Canvases

As my artwork developed, I was moved to try something more permanent. Sure, there is a lesson to be learned about the impermanence of all things when you spend hours on nail art and then wipe it away with nail polish remover (so ZEN!) but many times I want to hold on to that work. I started painting mini canvases in 2011 with a few portraits of my family. My artwork and skills progress and evolve with each new painting. I now incorporate nail polish (naturally the polish that I make myself) into my paintings by prepping the background of each canvas with a coat of polish. I like the added dimension and interest that this adds to the work. And as you can see, I find humor just as important as art, and I regularly incorporate humor, pop culture, and puns into my pieces.

Check my etsy shop to purchase my mini canvases, and also keep an eye out for art shows featuring my work.
