NAILgasm: A Documentary About NAIL ART

A quick post today to spread the word about a Kickstarter fundraising campaign for NAILgasm. A woman filmmaker is trying to raise funds to make a film about Nail Art and Nail Artists. I would LOVE to see this film, and I urge you to pledge your support of this project. There are some cool stickers you could get by pledging, or even get your name in the credits of the completed movie! I pledged 25 bucks so I get to have my name in the credits, WOOT! There are less than 8 hours left to support this Kickstarter campaign, so please take a moment to donate and to spread the word. She's really close to her goal and I think it would be great to support someone who understands our passion for Nail Art.

  1. This is awesome! It's exciting to realize we are a part of a worldwide art movement by women for women and it's being documented. Thanks for sharing this.

    1. Thanks Nearly Natural Nails! I know, I am psyched about this too. I really hope that Brass (the filmmaker) can reach her goal. This would be such a fun movie to watch.

  2. Omg this is so cool.
I don't have $25 bucks, but I will try to donate something. It's so great to see so many more women treating their nails as fashion accessories and canvasses for art instead of tools for opening soda and taking tape off packages.
    Long live nail polish!!!

    1. Excellent ChaosButterfly! I hope we can spread the word and get enough people to even donate a small amount of money to make this happen!

  3. You can do a documentary about nail art without spending 7 grand. Great concept (Not a cause, a concept in my eyes) but definitely overhyped into being more global and abstract than it is.

But all that aside, good for you for pledging! It isn't something that speaks to me, because a documentary doesn't need expensive cameras to be good, it just needs powerful script and editing.

    1. I see what you are saying, but in terms of movie making, isn't 7 grand kind of on the tiny side of movie budgets? I dunno, I think it is a worthwhile project about a passion that a lot of people have embraced. I'm an artsy kind of chick, so seeing people get into art warms my heart strings. :) And it looks like she was able to meet her fundraising goal, so that is cool. I still am very interested in seeing the movie. :)
