31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Inspired by a Color

I am so busy, so I am going to have to let the pictures do the talking for me today. My polish collection is a little bit heavy on the blue side, and every time I shop for more polish, I have to remind myself not to buy yet ANOTHER bottle of blue nail polish. But I love it so! In particular, I love this turquoise shade from Sinful Colors. It's called Savage, and it totally reminds me of a certain crime fighting team's vehicle...

Ah yeah! I did the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo, as well as the Miner 49er, and Scooby Doo himself! This mani RULES!



The hardest part of this mani was mixing blue and green acrylic paint to match this awesome shade of blue polish and make the right hue for the Mystery Machine. 



If you want to practice using acrylic paints to make nail art, might I suggest trying to paint the Miner 49er? This dude has only 4 colors, no shading, and no facial features. Easy peasy. 


Scooby just cracks me up. I wanted to draw Shaggy on my other hand, but ran out of time. Scoobs still is so funny, I just love how he turned out. 

Polishes used in this manicure: Essie All In One Basecoat, Sinful Colors Savage, and Seche Vite topcoat.

Tomorrow's challenge: a manicure inspired by a song. This should be fun!

    Awesome job! I loved my scooby doo mani that I did the second time. And I too love Savage! It's such a perfect teal.

    Totally faboosh. I loved this show when I was growing up, but haven't seen it on any of the channels lately. I guess they probably play it on Boomerang though... hmm...

    Thanks a lot Sarah! I have a few Scooby episodes on DVD that I watch with my kid. And my hubby's nickname is Shaggy, cause he kinda looks like Shaggy. :)
